Refund Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Your payment is held securely until your ticket is verified, so you are protected if a booking does not go through. This policy explains exactly when refunds apply, how long they take, and what is non-refundable.

1. How payment protection works for you

Your payment is only collected after an agent has accepted your booking request and paid their security deposit. At that point, your payment — comprising the base fare, agent fee, and TatkalDone Service Charge — is held securely by our payment partner and not released to anyone until your ticket is verified by our admin team. If the booking fails after your payment, the applicable amount is refunded to you as described in Section 2.

2. When you get a refund

Your payment is only at risk once you have paid. The following are the only scenarios where a refund applies:

  • The agent is unable to complete the booking (quota exhausted, IRCTC outage, or any technical failure on IRCTC's side) — the base fare and agent fee are refunded.
  • Our admin team rejects the uploaded PNR after review (invalid, fake, or mismatched ticket), including after the 3-attempt re-upload process — the base fare and agent fee are refunded.
  • An agent cancels a successfully booked ticket without your instruction (Agent-Caused Cancellation) — the base fare and agent fee are refunded.
  • You request cancellation before 8:00 AM IST on the day of travel and before the agent has uploaded a valid ticket — the base fare is refunded, but the agent fee is non-refundable as the agent has already committed their time.

Important: The TatkalDone Service Charge is non-refundable in all circumstances.

3. Refund timeline

Refunds are initiated within 24–48 hours of approval. This timeline is indicative only and not guaranteed. Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method via Razorpay, our payment partner. Refunds typically reach your account within 5–7 business days after initiation, depending on your bank or card issuer. This timeline is also indicative and not guaranteed.

Duplicate payments: Duplicate payments are refunded in full within 48 hours of detection. This timeline is indicative only and not guaranteed.

4. What is non-refundable

The following are non-refundable in all circumstances:

  • TatkalDone Service Charge (platform fee) — non-refundable regardless of the booking outcome.
  • Agent fee — non-refundable once an agent has accepted your booking, except where the agent fails to complete the booking, the PNR is rejected by our admin team, or an Agent-Caused Cancellation occurs.
  • Base fare — non-refundable once your ticket has been verified and delivered, as confirmed Tatkal tickets cannot be cancelled for a fare refund under IRCTC rules.

5. Tatkal tickets are non-refundable by IRCTC

Confirmed Tatkal tickets are non-refundable under Indian Railways (IRCTC) rules. If you cancel a confirmed Tatkal ticket through IRCTC, the base fare will not be refunded. This is an IRCTC policy and cannot be overridden by TatkalDone.

If a booking fails verification on the TatkalDone platform, the base fare and agent fee are refunded. The TatkalDone Service Charge is non-refundable in all circumstances. After 8:00 AM IST on the day of travel, the cancellation option is no longer available on the platform.

6. Agent deposit

Each agent places a security deposit on every booking they accept. This deposit is separate from your payment and does not affect your refund.

  • Released after successful verification — the deposit is returned to the agent once the booking has been successfully verified and delivered and once your journey has been successfully completed.
  • Forfeited as a penalty — if the agent fails to complete the booking or cancels a successfully booked ticket without your instruction, the deposit is forfeited by the platform.

This deposit is an agent-side accountability mechanism. It is not visible to you, does not form part of your payment, and has no impact on your refund.

7. How to raise a refund dispute & Chargebacks

If you believe a refund was handled incorrectly, raise a dispute through our grievance channel. Our admin team will review your booking, the PNR, and the proof on record, and respond to you. If you remain unsatisfied with the outcome, you may escalate the matter to the Grievance Officer or approach the appropriate consumer forum as described in our Grievance Redressal Policy.

Chargeback abuse: Raising a chargeback on a verified and delivered booking will be contested with verification proof. Repeated chargeback abuse may result in account suspension under our Terms of Service. ` `
